Travel with us as we drive a pleasant 6-mile stretch of Arkansas Highway 94, linking the wooded hills of Bella Vista to the historic small-town charm of Pea Ridge in Benton County. This short but varied route gives drivers a snapshot of the northwest corner of Arkansas — a region where rolling hills meet rural neighborhoods, and the outskirts of town blend seamlessly into the scenic Ozarks.
Our drive begins just south of the Missouri state line, at the intersection where AR-94 meets Arkansas Highway 340 near Bella Vista’s north edge. Right away, we head east through residential pockets shaded by mature trees and dotted with the occasional small farmstead. About a mile in, the route bends south for a brief stretch — a gentle curve that offers a peek at the winding local roads that branch into the surrounding hills and subdivisions. At the junction with Looney Road, we swing back east, easing into a stretch that feels more open, with scattered homes and stretches of pastureland marking our approach toward Pea Ridge.
Continuing east for another mile, the road once again angles south, gently descending into the north side of Pea Ridge. Here, the scenery shifts from rural open lots to the beginnings of small-town living. Local side streets, modest neighborhoods, and clusters of roadside businesses appear as we cross McNelly Road. By this point, we’re fully within Pea Ridge city limits, a community known for its Civil War battlefield park and its role as a quiet but growing bedroom town for nearby Bentonville and Rogers.
We press on east through the town’s more developed corridor for about a mile, eventually reaching the intersection with Arkansas Highway 265. This junction puts us just west of downtown Pea Ridge, where a mix of small businesses and local eateries line the streets. Staying on Highway 94, we cruise a few final blocks east until we meet Arkansas Highway 72. From here, travelers can continue east deeper into the Pea Ridge National Military Park or connect to other routes leading toward Garfield, Gateway, and the rugged beauty of the Ozark backroads.
If you’re exploring northwest Arkansas, this short drive is a pleasant connector — and a nice way to slip from quiet residential Bella Vista into the storied history of Pea Ridge, where a short detour can take you straight into the battlefield park or on toward more winding Ozark adventures.
